The Governor of Central Equatoria State, Rabi Mujung Emmanuel<\/strong>, on Wednesday led state government officials and senior administrators in the Executive Leadership Retreat for Peaceful Transition \u2013 Building Trust and Strengthening Teamwork<\/strong>, under the theme: \u201cUnited in Purpose, Leading the Way to Peace.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two-day retreat, held at Imperial Plaza Hotel<\/strong> from November 12\u201313, 2025<\/strong>, was organized by the National Ministry of Peace Building<\/strong> with support from the African Union Commission<\/strong>, the Finnish Church Aid (FCA)<\/strong>, and the Finn Church Aid Organization<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his opening remarks, Governor Mujung emphasized that peacebuilding is a continuous process<\/strong> that requires honesty, unity, and commitment to justice and accountability<\/strong>, noting that peace cannot be achieved through agreements alone but through rebuilding relationships, strengthening institutions, and addressing grievances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPeacebuilding is not a one-time event but a long journey of restoring social cohesion and ensuring justice for all. Trust is the currency of stability\u2014without it, agreements remain on paper, but with it, our communities and our State become stronger and more united.\u201d,Governor Mujung stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The National Minister of Peace Building<\/strong>, Hon. Stephen Par Kuol<\/strong>, explained that the purpose of the retreat is to foster constructive dialogue, enhance cooperation, and build trust among political actors and government institutions<\/strong>, thereby contributing to lasting stability and peace in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the State Minister of Peace Building<\/strong>, Hon. Jacob Aligo Lo-Lado<\/strong>, stressed that citizens\u2019 aspirations require public officials to demonstrate discipline and integrity<\/strong> in the discharge of their duties, adding that public offices are a sacred trust and responsibility to serve the people and meet their needs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The retreat is part of the national government\u2019s broader efforts to strengthen trust among different levels of governance<\/strong> and build more effective institutions<\/strong> capable of steering South Sudan\u2019s journey toward peace and sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
