The capital city, Juba, witnessed the organization of an official event to disseminate the Concluding Observations Report on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW)<\/strong> \u2014 a significant milestone in advancing gender equality and women\u2019s rights<\/strong> in South Sudan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was organized by the Center for Inclusive Governance, Peace and Justice (CIGPJ)<\/strong> in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender, Child, and Social Welfare<\/strong>, with support from Norwegian People\u2019s Aid<\/strong>, and saw broad participation from civil society organizations and international agencies<\/strong> working in the field of women\u2019s empowerment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organizers stated that the main goal of the event was to raise awareness about the importance of gender equality, promote policy reforms, and strengthen national efforts to address the challenges facing women and girls<\/strong> across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants emphasized that this initiative, held under the theme \u201cLeave No One Behind,\u201d<\/strong> represents a step toward positive social transformation<\/strong> and aims to ensure that every woman and girl in South Sudan enjoys a life of dignity, justice, equality, and opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organizers further highlighted that these efforts seek to empower women<\/strong> to play an active role in society and achieve their full potential, thereby contributing to the building of a more just and equitable South Sudan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event brought together representatives from several national and international organizations<\/strong>, including the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)<\/strong>, the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS)<\/strong>, UN Women<\/strong>, Plan International<\/strong>, CARE International<\/strong>, Save the Children<\/strong>, Light for the World<\/strong>, the South Sudanese Women Intellectuals Forum (SSWI)<\/strong>, the EVE Organization for Women Development<\/strong>, and the Community Voice for Inclusive Development Organization<\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
