The opening matches were packed with energy and excitement\u2014<strong>Mapuordit<\/strong> triumphed over <strong>Benyloom<\/strong> with a score of <strong>5-1<\/strong>, while <strong>Betoi<\/strong> defeated <strong>Aluakluak<\/strong> with a final tally of <strong>6-3<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Massive Turnout and Official Endorsement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tournament drew an enthusiastic crowd of locals, alongside government officials and community leaders. Attendees were treated to a vibrant cultural showcase as the wrestlers entered the ring wearing <strong>leopard-print skirts and ostrich feathers on their heads<\/strong>, symbolizing the rich heritage of the Nilotic tribes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Government Endorses Sport as a Tool for Peace<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking to the media, <strong>William Koji Kirjok<\/strong>, Lakes State Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sports, emphasized the event&#8217;s alignment with the national peace agenda. He recalled that <strong>President Salva Kiir Mayardit<\/strong> had, two years ago, instructed all governors to utilize traditional wrestling as a platform for fostering unity and social cohesion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cUnder the leadership of Gen. Rin Tueng Mabor, the state government strongly believes that wrestling is more than just a sport\u2014it\u2019s an effective tool for bringing communities together,\u201d Koji stated.<br>\u201cOver the past four years, we\u2019ve consistently used this sport as part of our peacebuilding efforts across the state.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wrestling as a Cultural Legacy and Instrument of Reconciliation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Traditional wrestling remains a central element of cultural identity for South Sudanese communities, especially among the <strong>Dinka, Mundari, and Lotuko<\/strong> tribes.
