The agreement was reached during a <strong>high-level meeting held in Beijing<\/strong>, attended by a delegation from the Ministry and senior officials from the Chinese oil company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The discussions between the two sides focused on <strong>increasing oil production<\/strong>, enhancing cooperation in <strong>technology transfer and national capacity building<\/strong>, and adopting <strong>environmentally responsible practices<\/strong> in oil field operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking to the South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC), <strong>Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum, Deng Lual Wol<\/strong>, stated:<br><em>&#8220;During the meeting, CNPC reaffirmed its commitment to rehabilitating the oil fields, with an emphasis on training local professionals and implementing sustainable, eco-friendly operational practices.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that the talks explored ways to enhance production in major oil blocks, particularly in <strong>Unity State (Blocks 1, 2, and 4)<\/strong> and <strong>Ruweng Administrative Area (Blocks 3 and 7)<\/strong>. The two sides also discussed practical strategies to <strong>improve operational efficiency and raise production levels<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wol confirmed that CNPC expressed its readiness to <strong>mobilize resources and technical expertise<\/strong> in support of the national government&#8217;s priorities in the oil sector. He emphasized the government\u2019s commitment to the <strong>effective utilization of natural resources<\/strong> to foster economic growth and ensure financial stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This development comes in conjunction with the <strong>resumption of South Sudan\u2019s oil exports via Sudan on June 10<\/strong>, following the repair of a pipeline damaged amid Sudan\u2019s ongoing conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In May, Sudan\u2019s military-backed government threatened to halt the flow of South Sudanese oil through its territory\u2014a move that posed a serious threat to the economy of South Sudan, which depends on oil exports for <strong>over 90% of its national revenue<\/strong>.
