The National High-Level Land Committee<\/strong>, established by President Salva Kiir Mayardit<\/strong> to tackle the growing issues of illegal land grabs, unlawful settlements, and related conflicts, held a critical meeting<\/strong> on Wednesday at the Central Equatoria State Government Secretariat<\/strong> in Juba<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting was chaired by Hon. Michael Chiengjiak<\/strong>, Minister of Land, Housing, and Urban Development, with H.E. Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani<\/strong>, Governor of Central Equatoria State<\/strong>, co-chairing the session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting was attended by several senior officials, including representatives from security agencies. The session concluded with the adoption of key resolutions aimed at intensifying efforts to resolve land-related disputes in Juba<\/strong> and its surrounding areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement to the press, Hon. David Morbe<\/strong>, the Minister of Housing, Lands, and Public Utilities<\/strong> for Central Equatoria State<\/strong>, reaffirmed the committee’s strong commitment to restoring fair and organized land management practices. He appealed to citizens with legal land ownership documents to be patient, assuring them that the government is actively working to protect their legitimate claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister Morbe stated: “I want to make it absolutely clear that my previous Ministerial Order regarding the demarcation or re-demarcation of areas previously surveyed by the ministry remains in full effect \u2013 no further demarcations will be allowed in those areas.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added, “Moreover, the use of private GPS systems for land grabbing purposes is illegal and strictly prohibited. The ministry is the sole authority in using this technology, and anyone wishing to use it must follow official procedures.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
