The National Communication Authority (NCA)<\/strong>, chaired by the Minister of ICT and Postal Services, Michael Makuei Lueth<\/strong>, convened its 10th leadership meeting<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister, Gen. David Yau Yau<\/strong>, the two Undersecretaries for the Telecommunications and Information sectors, the Information Commission, as well as heads of major public institutions including the NCA<\/strong>, South Sudan Media Authority (MA)<\/strong>, South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC TV)<\/strong>, and the Universal Service Access Fund (USAF)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also in attendance were the Chairpersons and Deputy Chairpersons<\/strong> of the boards of directors of the NCA, the Media Authority, and SSBC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting discussed organizing a stakeholder validation workshop<\/strong> to adopt a Media and Communication Strategy for the upcoming general elections<\/strong>, with participation from government institutions, civil society representatives, and development partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop aims to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Provide stakeholders with the opportunity to propose suggestions for improving the strategy’s effectiveness,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Identify existing gaps and broaden participation,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Ensure diversity of perspectives and enhance transparency in the planning process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    The leadership meeting reaffirmed its commitment to cooperation and transparency<\/strong>, and stressed the importance of unifying national efforts<\/strong> in preparation for the upcoming elections by involving various stakeholders in media planning and ensuring effective communication of electoral messages to all citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
