The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in South Sudan, in partnership with the African Development Bank Group, along with the Ministry of Finance and Planning and the Ministry of Trade and Industry of South Sudan, has officially launched the “Job Creation” project. This initiative aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) managed by women and youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funded by the African Development Bank Group, the project seeks to provide job opportunities and enhance entrepreneurial skills through targeted training for women and youth aged 18 to 35 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the project will work on improving coordination among small and medium-sized enterprises (MSEs) to enhance the development of the private sector and ensure the sustainability of the economy. It will also support the growth of SMEs across six agricultural value chains, contributing to increased economic resilience and sustainable livelihoods. The project will focus on the Northern and Western Bahr el-Ghazal states and invest in capacity-building initiatives within the Ministry of Trade and Industry to ensure long-term impact and strengthen institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United Nations reaffirmed its commitment through initiatives like JMSE to empower youth and women, strengthen local institutions, and promote robust communities driving sustainable economic growth in South Sudan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
