Governor of Warrap State, General Magok Magok Deng, along with his accompanying delegation, arrived at Awul Fayam in Northern Tonj County to hold a meeting on security and peace with the local community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Magok expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude for the warm reception and urged the Atok Bok Alok community to stop the fighting, allowing peace to stabilize and coexistence to flourish between the local communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Magok reiterated the same eight orders he had issued during his visit to Madhiath Ajak-Kiriik, and Awan Fark in the Runlet area of Northern Tonj County. He warned the communities, especially the traditional leaders and members of the “Geilweng”, to respect these orders and allow justice and the rule of law to take their course against those involved in committing atrocities during the conflict, directing leaders and heads of security forces to strictly implement these orders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Machok Deng Aroul, a member of the State Legislative Assembly, urged communities in the conflict areas, especially the Atok community, to adopt a culture of peace, allow free movement of populations and humanitarian assistance to affected victims, share grazing areas and water resources with neighboring communities, and work towards identifying and arresting the perpetrators, while stopping the burning of homes during clashes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Governor of Northern Tonj County, Joseph Madut Deng, called on the Atok Bok community to end the road closures and allow free movement for individuals and humanitarian assistance to those affected by the conflict, while ensuring immediate reporting of all criminal activities occurring within the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister of Information and Communications, James Yik Bath, called on the Atok communities and other areas affected by the conflict to accept each other and stop the killing of innocent people and women during disputes, pointing out that women are peacebuilders worldwide. However, senseless conflicts and civil wars have made them more vulnerable, resulting in a higher death rate compared to birth rates due to indiscriminate killings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Minister expressed his sorrow for those who destroy infrastructure, especially homes, schools, hospitals, and other government properties during the fighting, emphasizing that those involved in such actions will face consequences once arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Traditional leaders and local youth leaders expressed their gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit for the trust he placed in their son, General Magok Magok Deng, by appointing him as the Governor of Warrap State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The community members reassured the governor and the people of Warrap State of their commitment to peaceful coexistence and their support for the Government of South Sudan and the Warrap State Government in particular. They announced the reopening of the roads linking Akob to Rualbeit and Kerik, demanding that criminals who are hiding and committing atrocities in their areas leave immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Magok Magok Deng\u2019s visit was accompanied by Minister of Information and Communications, James Yik Bath, Mr. Machok Deng Aroul, Member of the Legislative Assembly, Bona Bol Madut, the Governor\u2019s Advisor, along with heads of security forces and other senior government officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
