The community engagement, organized by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) in collaboration with the Civil Society Network in Western Equatoria, provided a platform for community leaders to enhance understanding and participation in political, electoral and governance processes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Tito Manga Mambo, Chairperson of the Association of Persons with Disabilities, delivered a compelling message about their right to recognition and representation. <br>\u201cPeople with disabilities have valuable insights,\u201d he added. \u201cMany of us are elders and have experiences that can enhance governance,\u201d he said, expressing the hopes of many who believe they can contribute to national dialogues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Esther Joseph, secretary of the Women\u2019s Association, joined Tito in emphasizing the need for women\u2019s voices to be heard from the grassroots level: \u201cWomen are the foundation of society because of their role, which starts within their families and extends to the political sphere, where they can share perspectives that allow them to shape a just and equitable charter.\u201d \u201cWe are not just asking for inclusion, we are asking for leadership in this process,\u201d she stressed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>This grassroots engagement is part of the broader \u201cPeace Begins with Dialogue\u201d campaign led by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan, which aims to promote inclusive participation among traditional leaders, youth leaders, women, local authorities and influential individuals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1080\" height=\"566\" src=\"https:\/\/derawetmedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/FB_IMG_1731322090151.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-307\" srcset=\"https:\/\/derawetmedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/FB_IMG_1731322090151.jpg 1080w, https:\/\/derawetmedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/FB_IMG_1731322090151-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/derawetmedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/FB_IMG_1731322090151-768x402.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>As the campaign expands across South Sudan, the message is that the path to lasting peace and effective governance begins with open and robust dialogue that champions the rights of all citizens and ensures that all voices are heard.
