President Salva Kiir Mayardit received briefings on the security situation in three states on Monday. The briefings were presented by Central Equatoria Governor Augustino Jadalla, Upper Nile Governor James Odhok Oyay, and Northern Bahr el Ghazal Governor Simon Obur Ajongo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Augustino informed the President about the general security situation in Central Equatoria State, highlighting ongoing investigations regarding last year\u2019s security incident in Wonduruba, as well as the movement of cattle into the state. He pointed out that cattle movement remains a contentious issue, often sparking conflicts and violence between local farming communities and herders coming from outside the state. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jadalla assured the President that the government, in collaboration with security forces and local communities, is working diligently to promote security, peace, and stability.<\/p>\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Upper Nile Governor James Odhok briefed the President on the security situation in Nasir County, confirming that the general security in the state is stable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also noted that he had conducted field visits across various counties to promote a culture of peace and urge local communities to embrace tolerance and peaceful coexistence. These visits were well-received by the public, and he emphasized that Upper Nile is currently witnessing stability, with life gradually returning to normal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For his part, Northern Bahr el Ghazal Governor Simon Obur Ajongo updated the President on the security situation in his state. In a press statement following the meeting, he stated that he briefed the President on several developmental projects being implemented by the state government to boost infrastructure and economic growth in the region.
