Juba: Al-Naeim Mubarak Kuol
A comprehensive report on the current changes in the judicial service in South Sudan, aimed at enhancing access to justice, was presented to President Salva Kiir.
The meeting where the report was presented was attended by First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar, senior officials from the Ministry of Justice, and Justice Minister Ruben Madol Arol.
The Chairperson of the Judicial Reform Committee, Justice James Ogola, emphasized the impact of South Sudan’s cultural diversity on the reforms. He outlined strategies to reduce case backlogs, including hiring more judges, upgrading court facilities, and implementing a digital justice system.
The reforms focused on improving the efficiency of the judicial system by enhancing judicial staff training and providing legal resources such as technology and libraries.
