The South Sudan Cabinet has announced plans to build a new $3 billion oil refinery in the Tharjath<\/strong> area, located south of Unity State, which is rich in oil resources. Tharjath<\/strong> is situated in Koch County, a region with small capacity and lacking proper road connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The refinery will be funded through a public-private partnership, with 30% ownership by Nilepet, the state-owned oil company of South Sudan, and 70% by “Quad Layer Holdings.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n The refinery project also includes the construction of roads to ensure that fuel products reach the market.
