The East and Central Africa Confederation (CECAFA) has partially rescheduled the draw for the CECAFA U-17 qualifiers. This is after Burundi withdrew from the qualifiers for reasons attributed by Burundi Federation officials to the failure of many of the team’s players in the MRI test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Burundi’s withdrawal comes after Ethiopia withdrew from the qualifiers for financial reasons after the draw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this draw, the organizing committee moved Kenya to Group A with Tanzania and Uganda, making the number of teams 3 in each group. While Sudan and South Sudan, in addition to the defending champions Somalia, are in the second qualifying group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first and second from each group qualify for the semifinals. While the champion and runner-up of the competition qualify for the finals of the next U-17 African Cup of Nations directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ugandan capital, Kampala, will host the qualifiers from December 14 to 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The title of the last tournament, which was held in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, is held by Somalia after beating South Sudan 3\/1 in the final match.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
