The President of the Republic, First Lieutenant General Salva Kiir Mayardit, issued decisions to make adjustments in some leadership positions, dismissing some officials and appointing others to different positions last night. The decisions were broadcasted on South Sudan Television.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Kiir dismissed General Santino Deng Wol from his position as Chief of the General Staff of the South Sudan Defense Forces and appointed General Paul Ngang Majok in his place, still within the Ministry of Defense. The president also dismissed Atak Santino Majak from the position of Deputy Minister of Defense and appointed General Santino Deng Wol as the new Deputy Minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The president relieved the Inspector General of Police, General Atem Marol Biar, and appointed General Abraham Manyuat Ngong as the new Inspector General of Police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Salva Kiir dismissed the Governor of the Central Bank of South Sudan, Dr. James Alich Garang, and appointed Johnny Ohissa Damian as the new Governor of the Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The president also dismissed the First Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Planning, Garang Majak Bol, and appointed Arop Nuoi Arop Deng in his place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
