The Ad Hoc Committee of the Board of Directors of the South Sudan Revenue Authority (SSRA) has concluded a strategic review session focused on strengthening institutional governance, promoting financial accountability, and improving the Authority’s operational efficiency ahead of the 2026/27 fiscal year.
The committee held its meeting at the SSRA headquarters in Juba under the chairmanship of Mr. Biel Jock Thiec, where it discussed a range of strategic, financial, and administrative issues related to the Authority’s performance and plans for the upcoming fiscal year.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed and endorsed the proposed Board Calendar for the 2026/27 financial year as part of efforts to strengthen strategic planning and oversight of the Authority’s activities.
The committee also examined the Revenue Performance Report for the 2025/26 fiscal year, together with the Budget Execution Report, to assess the Authority’s financial performance and the implementation of its financial plans.
The review further considered the proposed SSRA budget for the new fiscal year, as well as a number of internal control frameworks, including the Internal Audit Charter and the Board Audit and Risk Management Charter.
The committee said policy recommendations and governance frameworks developed during the review session would be submitted to the full SSRA Board of Directors for consideration and approval.
It described the strategic review as an important step towards strengthening transparency and accountability, improving financial management, and enhancing operational performance and efficiency within the Authority.
The review comes as the SSRA continues efforts to improve revenue management mechanisms and strengthen institutional oversight in support of government efforts to enhance financial performance and increase public resources.
