The Governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, has called on citizens to continue praying for peace and stability, stressing that peace is a fundamental foundation for achieving development and rehabilitating communities across Greater Yei.
Governor Adil made the remarks while attending the Eleventh Sunday after Trinity service on Sunday, accompanied by Mama Stella Emmanuel Adil, at Immanuel Cathedral of the Diocese of Yei under the Episcopal Church of South Sudan (ECSS), in the presence of a large congregation of Christian faithful.
The Governor urged worshippers to continue praying for peace and stability in Greater Yei, saying, “Let us continue to pray for peace so that development can take its course in Yei.”
Governor Adil explained that his visit to Greater Yei is part of a broader field tour covering various parts of Central Equatoria State, conducted under the directive of President Salva Kiir Mayardit. The tour aims to assess the situation in different counties and gain a better understanding of the needs and priorities of local communities.
He further said the tour is intended to facilitate direct engagement with citizens, listen to their concerns and challenges, and identify their key priorities and basic needs, particularly in the areas of development and public services.
The Governor’s delegation included the Commissioner of Yei River County, along with a number of senior officials from the Central Equatoria State Government, who attended the Sunday service and participated in activities associated with the visit.
