Hope Restoration South Sudan announced through its official Facebook page that it has launched a food assistance distribution campaign supported by the World Food Programme (WFP) for vulnerable households in Leer and Mayendit Counties of Unity State, in partnership with Mercy Corps.
According to the organization, the assistance is aimed at supporting families affected by the difficult humanitarian situation in the area. The distributed food commodities include cereals, pulses, vegetable oil, and salt, helping beneficiary households meet their urgent food and nutritional needs.
The organization further stated that the distribution program also included specialized nutritional support for the most vulnerable groups. Children under the age of two received nutritional supplements to promote healthy growth and proper nutrition, while pregnant and breastfeeding women were provided with fortified food products to improve maternal and child health.
Hope Restoration noted that the assistance comes at a time when local communities are facing increasing humanitarian challenges caused by the combined effects of conflict, climate-related shocks, and economic hardship. The organization emphasized that the support serves as a vital lifeline for thousands of families and helps reduce the risks of food insecurity and malnutrition.

The organization reaffirmed its commitment, together with its humanitarian partners, to continue delivering life-saving assistance and strengthening the resilience and recovery of communities across South Sudan.
