The Governor of Jonglei State, Dr. Riek Gai Kok, returned to Bor, the state capital, yesterday after participating in the official leadership summit of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) held in Juba.
Upon his arrival, the governor was received by Deputy Governor Awol Gai Jang Awol, the State Legal Advisor Deng Akol Deng, several state ministers, the Commissioner of Bor County, and other senior government officials.
The governor’s return follows the conclusion of the summit, which brought together senior SPLM leaders to discuss a range of national and organizational issues. He is expected to resume his official duties and continue overseeing government programs aimed at promoting peace, stability, and development, as well as improving service delivery across Jonglei State.
State government officials said the coming period will focus on the continued implementation of development plans and the strengthening of institutional performance to improve the living conditions of citizens and advance the principles of good governance throughout the state.
