Bentiu – Al Wadi Newspaper

The Governor of Unity State, Dr. Joseph Manytuil, conducted a field tour of several government institutions and training centers in Bentiu as part of government efforts to assess the condition of public facilities and support ongoing rehabilitation following years of damage caused by conflict.

The visit included the Bentiu Vocational Training Center, the construction site of the Bentiu Teacher Training Institute, as well as the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries and the Ministry of Public Service and Human Resource Development, where the governor reviewed operations and the operational challenges facing these institutions.

The tour comes as the Unity State government continues its efforts to rehabilitate public facilities that were destroyed during the 2013 conflict, which significantly affected working conditions and the delivery of public services.

At the Bentiu Vocational Training Center, the governor received a briefing from trainers and officials from the Ministry of Public Service and Human Resource Development, highlighting key challenges facing the center as well as its achievements in training and equipping young people with technical and vocational skills.

Dr. Joseph Manytuil praised the center’s role in preparing skilled professionals, stressing that technical training is a key pillar in empowering youth with the skills needed to enter the labor market and achieve self-reliance.

He called on the center’s management to expand training programs and introduce new disciplines that meet labor market demands in the state, in order to create more opportunities for young people and strengthen local economic development.

The Bentiu Vocational Training Center currently offers programs in construction, welding, information and communication technology, automotive mechanics, and tailoring, as part of broader efforts to develop vocational skills and improve the capacity of the workforce in Unity State.
