The Nile Petroleum Corporation (NILEPET) has announced significant progress in implementing its infrastructure modernization and digital transformation program following a Management Committee meeting held to review the status of several strategic projects aimed at improving the performance of South Sudan’s national oil company.

During the meeting, chaired by the company’s executive management, members reviewed a detailed report on the rehabilitation of NILEPET’s headquarters. The project includes structural repairs, comprehensive maintenance works, and the upgrading of the building’s general facilities to improve the working environment, enhance safety standards, and strengthen the company’s readiness to meet future operational demands.

The Management Committee also reviewed progress on the company’s digital transformation initiative, confirming the successful completion of the first phase of high-speed internet connectivity across NILEPET’s facilities. The next phase will focus on the installation of advanced Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) security systems, followed by the implementation of additional digital technologies and solutions.

NILEPET stated that these projects form part of its broader strategy to build a more modern and efficient institution while strengthening its operational capacity to support the management and development of South Sudan’s petroleum sector.

The company further noted that the modernization program is being implemented under the guidance and support of the Minister of Petroleum, Hon. Emmanuel Athiei, who is leading efforts to strengthen the company’s institutional capacity. NILEPET added that additional infrastructure and institutional reform projects will be rolled out in the coming months to promote sustainable growth and improve overall operational performance.
