The Communications Coordinator for the Greater Upper Nile Region at the National Communications Authority, Mr. Mabior Atem Mabior, visited the headquarters of Derawet Media Group, where he was briefed on the institution’s operations and media activities in the field of news and information dissemination.
During the visit, Mr. Mabior praised the achievements made by Derawet Media Group within a short period since its establishment, noting that the institution has successfully established a strong presence in the media landscape through the professional and news-oriented content it provides to the public.
He also commended the efforts of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Manyjok Kong Manyjok, in advancing media work, emphasizing the vital role of the media in serving the nation, promoting public awareness, and delivering information to citizens with professionalism and responsibility.
For his part, the Chairman of Derawet Media Group provided a comprehensive overview of the institution’s activities and various digital platforms. He explained that the group relies on its website as well as social media platforms, including YouTube and Facebook, to publish news, reports, and information of public interest that contribute to supporting national development efforts.
Mr. Kong affirmed that the group is working to expand its media services and strengthen its digital presence to ensure that reliable news and information reach a wider audience both within South Sudan and abroad.
The visit comes as part of efforts to strengthen communication and cooperation between media institutions and agencies related to the communications sector, contributing to the development of the media environment and supporting initiatives aimed at promoting professional journalism that serves the interests of the nation and its citizens.
