Governor of Jonglei State Urges Newly Appointed Officials to Provide Exceptional Services to the People of the State

The Governor of Jonglei State, H.E. Dr. Riek Gai Kok, has urged the newly appointed officials to commit to delivering high-quality, selfless services to the people. This call was made during a reception event held at the Jonglei State Government Secretariat.

On April 2, 2025, the Governor announced the appointments of several new officials, including H.E. Kur Ayuen Kou Dut, the Secretary of the State Government, H.E. Donge Gai Donge, Commissioner for Revenue Authority, Mabil Geodon Dau, Technical Advisor for Special Programs, Malieth Dak Deng, Advisor for Youth Affairs, and John Gany Lual, Press Secretary.

During the meeting, the Governor emphasized that these officials were selected based on their outstanding records and qualifications, urging them to view these appointments as an opportunity to serve the community.

The Governor stated, “Regardless of the positions you hold today, you must bear great responsibility and prioritize the well-being of our people. The people of Jonglei State have chosen you for these tasks, and you must use your expertise to improve the lives of our citizens, especially given the high expectations the people have for us.”

He added, “We must fulfill our commitment to the People’s First Agenda, and I am optimistic that you will perform your duties with dedication, in line with the aspirations of our people.”

In response, the Secretary of the State Government, Kur Ayuen Kou Dut, expressed his gratitude to the Governor for the trust placed in them, pledging to work diligently to meet their mandates.

“We are very excited about this opportunity to serve you and our state. We know the challenges are significant, but we promise to work as a team and follow the ethics set by the Governor to ensure excellence in service delivery,” said the Secretary.

The event was attended by representatives from the Director Generals, Commissioners, Ministers, Religious Leaders, and other prominent figures from Jonglei State.
