In a move aimed at enhancing South Sudan’s position on the international stage, President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Monday received updates from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation regarding its renewed commitment to deepening diplomatic relations with the United States of America and other international partners.
Minister Monday Semaya Kumba briefed the president on the ongoing strategic reforms within the ministry, aimed at boosting efficiency and improving global engagement. The discussions also highlighted financial and administrative reforms intended to rejuvenate and improve the ministry’s operations and enhance its global outreach.
The meeting also addressed cooperation with the United Nations Security Council, as well as the recent joint visit of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission and officials from the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).
President Kiir welcomed the new diplomatic initiative, reaffirming the Government of South Sudan’s commitment to reforms that will help enhance the country’s role on the global stage and contribute constructively to international affairs.
