Aweil United Advances to Third Round on Penalties Against Al-A’mal Al-Hurra

Aweil United secured their place in the third round of the South Sudan National Cup by defeating Al-A’mal Al-Hurra Kuajok 5-4 in a penalty shootout, after the match ended in a goalless draw (0-0) in regular time.

Both Aweil United and Al-A’mal Al-Hurra reached this stage after earlier victories — Aweil United overcame Al-Merrikh Twic with an aggregate score of 3-1, while Al-A’mal Al-Hurra defeated Anyanya 2 Yirol with a 4-1 aggregate score.

The champions of Kuajok now await the winner of today’s match between Gold Star Rumbek and Majak Ajuong Wanyjok, part of the second-round action in Group A, taking place at Al-Hurriya Stadium in Rumbek.
