The draw for the first round of the 14th edition of the South Sudan National Cup was conducted yesterday afternoon at the offices of the South Sudan Football Association. The event was attended by the association’s president, along with the chairman and members of the tournament’s organizing committee.
A total of 24 teams from various local and sub-associations affiliated with the national federation are participating in this edition. It has been decided that the three groups will compete in Renk, Juba, and Rumbek.
The tournament will officially kick off on March 24 at Juba National Stadium, while the matches in the Renk and Rumbek groups will conclude on March 27. Notably, the champions of the Nasir and Raja associations will not be participating in this edition.
Matches in the Juba group will be played at Buluk Playground, as well as other venues such as Al-Zahra, Jamus, and Munuki Playgrounds.
The winner of this edition will receive the championship cup along with a cash prize of $10,000, in addition to securing a spot in the CECAFA Kagame Cup.
The national federation will later announce the full tournament schedule, including match dates and venues for the three groups.
